Implants
Dental implants are an excellent alternative to bridges, partials, and dentures. Implants are made from titanium and replace one missing tooth or many missing teeth. The titanium implants are surgically placed into the bone. Once the implants are placed, the surrounding bone, over time, fuses to the implant surface (osseointegration). Following the osseointegration, crowns or bridges are attached to the implants. The replacement of teeth by implants is so reliable that it is, in most cases, considered the first choice over a fixed bridge, a removable partial, or a denture.
